As captain of your vessel, a Float Plan is very important because you are responsible for the people aboard your boat and it shows that your concerned with their safety. A Float Plan should be the 2nd item on your list when preparing to leave the dock. Normally, captains check the weather and decide. As soon as the decission has been made, a Float Plan should be filed.

This will post your plan and allow you to print this out for a reliable person at home. DO NOT SUBMIT TO THE COAST GUARD. Additionally, when you post the Float Plan on this site, this will allow others to know, there are others out there to call upon.
